GRESB B.V. was founded in 2009 by a group of property fund owners who wanted to facilitate access to comparable and reliable data on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) benchmark of their investments. Over the past years, GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) has developed itself to the world’s leading ESG benchmark for real estate investments. The following 7 aspects are considered in the scope of the valuation:

  • Risks + chances
  • Stakeholder commitment
  • Management
  • Policies + transparency
  • Monitoring + EMS
  • Performance indicators
  • Building certification

Under these theme fields, the performance indicators and the stakeholder commitment of the participants have the greatest influence on the valuation, each with 25%.

NATURE OF THE GRESB VALUATION

  • The results of the market competitors are compared with a so-called “Peer Group”. As the performance of this Peer Group improves annually, a continuous improvement of the key figures is required in order to be able to confirm the valuation in the following year.
  • Results prepared comprehensibly for the integration in the reporting of a real estate company
  • Internationality, use of market participants acting internationally
