The American seal of approval LEED „Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design“ was developed in 1998 by the U.S. Green Building Council and continuously updated. The evaluation of new buildings, existing buildings and interior furnishings takes place based on the following main themes:

  • Evaluation of the location quality as indicator for the global environmental impact of a building and its operation
  • Focus on the CO2 reduction of the real estate by the optimisation of the system technology and optimised operator concept
  • Documentation in English which is a benefit for international trade and comparison of real estate, also on a portfolio level or real estate of a “Green Fond”
  • Linking with the platform “arc” for the purpose of using digitised data for the future operation of the building
  • Open and integrative system by a content-related and digitised linking to the systems PEER, WELL, EDGE, GRESB, PARKSMART etc., so-called “Crosswalks“
