In the same manner as the DGNB and BNB system, the valuation system was also developed in the work group sustainable residential construction of the round table Sustainable Building of the former Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs. The associations of the real estate and housing industry, companies of the housing industry as well as research facilities were a part of this work group. The system provider is the association for promoting sustainability in housing (NaWoh). The valuation of the residential properties is based on 7 superordinate groups:
-
Living quality
-
Ecological quality
-
Economic quality
-
Technical quality
-
Process quality
-
Location quality
NATURE OF THE CERTIFICATION
-
The system differentiates two types of criteria
-
Assessing criteria – Assessment criteria / benchmarks are defined and the fulfilment of minimum requirements must be verified
-
Describing criteria – When observing the documentation obligations, construction solutions or procedures are explained
-
The result is represented in a so-called “Strengths-Weaknesses profile”
-
Fundamental focus on the aspects of the living quality, e.g. conversion capability of the rooms when starting a family or with movement restrictions, appropriate storage rooms, parking areas for prams, walkers, etc.
